🚀 Dhurandhar 2 — The Front-Load
Dhurandhar: The Revenge opened to ₹619.42 Cr in its first week — a number that surpasses most Bollywood films' entire lifetime collections. Eid landed on Day 3 (₹113 Cr), Ugadi drove Day 4 (₹114.85 Cr), and the film's all-time Hindi Day 1 record of ₹102.55 Cr set the tone. This is front-loading in its most spectacular form.
By Day 8, D2 had already collected ₹669 Cr — more than D1's entire theatrical lifetime compressed into 8 days. Front-loaded films of this scale in Indian cinema are extremely rare. The closest comparison is Pushpa 2 (₹294 Cr Day 1), but even that film's legs were stronger relative to its opening.
📈 Dhurandhar 1 — The Holiday Reverse Build
The original Dhurandhar released in December 2025 and pulled off something almost no Bollywood film achieves: Week 2 (₹253 Cr) was 22% bigger than Week 1 (₹207 Cr). D9 (2nd Friday, Christmas) hit ₹53 Cr and D10 (2nd Saturday) hit ₹58 Cr — both the film's single best days. This is the Christmas holiday effect in full force.
This "reverse front-loading" explains why D1 outperforms D2 in certain Week 2 and Week 3 daily comparisons. The audience pattern was different: D1 built toward the holidays. D2 rode the holiday launch and is now in a standard post-event decay curve.

Original Dhurandhar claims its first daily victory on Day 9 — ₹53 Cr vs ₹41.75 Cr.

D2's 2nd Friday (D9) dropped 33% vs the day before — a typical blockbuster weekday decay compounded by IPL 2026. D1's 2nd Friday spiked 63% — Christmas holiday audiences pushing Week 2 beyond Week 1. The structural difference between the two films' trajectories produces this divergence. D2 front-loads enormously, then falls faster on weekdays. D1 had slow early weekdays but holiday-driven spikes later.
