The Hype Score (0–100) is an at-a-glance signal of pre-release momentum. Higher scores indicate films with stronger forecast tiers, more pre-release signal strength, and closer release windows. 70+ flags HIGH HYPE; 50-69 is ELEVATED; 35-49 is MODERATE; below 35 is LOW HYPE. The score reflects pre-release anticipation, not a guaranteed outcome.
The Forecast Range is BCM's calibrated 90% confidence interval for opening day. A real forecast for a film weeks out lives inside a meaningful range, and the range is the honest answer. If a film opens outside the published range, the model was wrong — and we publish that too.
The Confidence Read tells you how much weight to put on the forecast. Films far from release inherently have less reliable signals, so confidence is calibrated against release proximity, signal strength, and the model's internal assessment of how well-anchored the forecast is. A Low confidence forecast is honest signal — it means the model knows the future is uncertain.

A point forecast that reads "₹X Cr" sounds precise but isn't. A real forecast for a film weeks out from release lives inside a meaningful range, and the range is the honest answer. A single point estimate hides the uncertainty that's genuinely there.
Confidence reflects how trustworthy the forecast is, not how exciting the film is. Films more than a couple of months from release have inherently less reliable pre-release signals. A Low confidence forecast is honest signal — it tells you the model knows the future is still uncertain.
